On desolation’s shore…by G. Mramor

I. ghosts

I recall your ascension to the sun, and your return a ghost, you came to me on that shore recounting desolations and sand, and you watched me wrecked flotsam from a heart’s disappearance in the opal sea and you did nothing as fear and hatred dragged me down,

and here am I, here are you, here where ghosts recount desolations and sand, waiting for the black hole to eat up the forever sun, here waiting ninety beginnings and ninety endings ninety tongues lost for words and ninety tears lost for joy ninety kisses so short and ninety embraces so long, and the ninety days of love we had, in ghostly pallour, now ninety forevers on desolation’s shore, awaiting the time of the forever eclipse, to forget that we ever were

II. lovers’ dream

You remind me of Sorrow, Sorrow who came to me on a shore in a dream, that Sorrow couldn’t care for me, that Sorrow smothered me -was this me or you?-, that Sorrow was my judgment, my damnation, fore your breaths ever spoke dreams : alone on a golden shore, a wind dogging the trees, a paint-poured sea, a shining ghost rising from the water and coming toward me; a blonde sun a blonde ocean a blonde ghost who spoke me : a hero’s someone who can give and lose  : but what, I rise, what can I give to lose or lose to give?, what?, if I can only take and take until there is nothing left to take from you; : , silence, : you are just an aberration of  my sleep

III. story

He tells your story to the grains, with hope that stories awaken the longsleeping, that there is one who shall hear, that there is one who shall return, fore we are not made if we are not throughout time one

: what is your name

: Sorrow

: Sorrow, smiling, and your story, what is your story

: speak no more this story

: , angered, but my story has given rise to you

: , soft, speak no more ghost, stars in day sun at night tide up when tide should be down, you awaken damage in me, go

: my love, I will remember all of you, I will return you love, look at me, here, take my hand, come to me my love, come to me

: , scared, do not touch me, crying,

: let me finish my story love, let me give you my words, let my words unlock life

: , mad, I see a passage in the sand, but no, no, it’s not true, my eyes know nothing, no

: my love, come, come my love

: , mad, angered, violent,

Sorrow tells your story to the grains of sand, with hope that stories awaken the longsleeping, that there is one who shall hear, that there is one who shall return, fore we are not made if we are not throughout time one

IV. no more the ghost

Go, go away, go, away with your ghost heart, fore we ever met on this desolation, fore I ever saw you, fore we ever loved, I do not hope to return again .. fore see this, see my hands that open the sky for you that give you sun stars and moon that give your heart beat, fore all of my fears bramble my knuckles fore all of my insecurities thistle my palms fore all of my lies thorn my wrists, fore I once saw you disrobe before mortality’s moon, fore I ever saw you shimmurr weak in the holy fire of an eclipse, fore I ever saw time hold you .. fore we ever met on this desolation, fore I ever saw you, fore we ever loved, I hold no hope to return again, fore, ghost once I did adore, no more can I be your man your lover your friend, no more the ghost

V. again my love

But there will we meet, when stories come to end, at the horizon of all knowing, and you will see me naked shivurring daring not my eyes upon so soft a face so blonde a soul so pink a heart, and you will come to me with no words, just blue eyes, and we will wade out one my old love, naked and frail as the wind

: fore what in age have we lost that the horizon shall not return us, what in loving have we damaged that the horizon shall not mend, what in time have we found that the horizon shall not bind forever

: the words to bear a lonely walk, the language to ask for companionship, the wisdom to make ourselves naked, fore only naked will we ever find ourselves and in so doing another, fore only naked can we ever arrive at the horizon of all knowing

:: where knowing fades just as unknowing once did, and where unknowing carries us just as knowing once did
